Many people ask the question, why were the children given to Christy and Matt Shaffer? Here is the answer. They had guardianship of Lilli and Noah before Alissa was born. Alissa's mother had made statements that her kids used to go over to Christy's house for "sleepovers" when, in fact, that was not true at all. This case went so horribly wrong because of the MULTIPLE CONFLICTS OF INTEREST associated with the Prosecutor and the Judge involving personal and professional relationships with the defendants father (which is documented in court records and interviews), and also the doctor that treated Alissa for the 3 months that she was being tortured until she was ultimately MURDERED.
